I recently purchased this item in store with the assistance of a staff there. Despite of mentioning that we needed the Eket with wall mounting hardware, he pointed out the ones with no hardware and I only realized this when I got back home. Now I am trying to send back the cubes with parcel collection service for free(because my home is far far away to Ikea and I don’t get the chance to get there often). I tried to talk to customer service via chat 3 times, the conversations with them were ended in the middle of conversation. It is really frustrating! It is obviously not our fault to get the wrong items and it definitely should’t be me who is paying for the return!!

DO NOT BUY THIS… I bought x 3 and all 3 do not fit the new plastic bolt and groove system doesnt allot you to slot the last side in and ruins the corner.. I have been fitting ikea for 20+ years and never had to throw out back to back installations. BAD SYSTEM ikea… please cancel this plastic & wood join system and go back to the screw and turn system !

I purchased and installed these over 3 years ago and they are still holding strong now. I built and installed around 4 large base units, 4 large top units and a few of the smaller boxes. They have this great wall bracket that is a doddle to hang them on that makes them very strong (only as strong as your fixings).
They are very easy to assemble wrong which means the edges don’t line up, and once you have put all the no drill fixings in, they are hard to dissemble. I wouldn’t say this was a product flaw but more my flaw but once you actually read the instruction’s it’s pretty quick to build the rest (some do take a bit of a push to click into place).
I would certainly recommend, and I have put more up in a friend’s house, and they look great. For me it was a decision between Kallax and Eket and Eket won easily. One thing that IKEA need to do though is allow the full range of colour options on all units not just the cubes.

looks good and nice decorative storage solution but need to be careful while assembling as its easy to chip and break making it useless. Wall fittings are provided without screws so cant really fit to the wall, now will have to go and find the right screws to fit its a mess now with lots of cubes but all lying on the floor. ususaly ikea doesnt disappoint but this definitely is not a great experience, ikea team at the store was also not helpful as they made me buy a separate wall slider piece instead of just 2 screws per cube.

Tip for anyone buying any products with the plastic bolts, one of the panels has a black printed mark on it, which is supposed to look like a 1 but absolutely doesn’t. This needs to be the first to panel you use as the groove for the back board is deeper than the other panels and gives you the space needed to slide the top panel in.
Ikea should make this a lot clearer as I imagine a lot of people return the product due to assembly appearing faulty. Overall, the product is fine and is as expected just genuinely shocked at the awkwardness of assembly

I bought these as a second small bookcase, I bought the clips to join them together but if you have them on the floor rather than the wall they separate at the front as there’s nowhere to attach a clip at the front. They’re ok if you can jam them in somewhere but I wish I’d bought a Kallax shelving unit instead🙁
